See your Discord plans in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar

Calenbot gives you a private calendar subscription URL for plans created with Calenbot in your Discord servers. Add it once to your calendar app to see eligible upcoming events alongside your other plans.

What this subscription includes

An administrator needs to add Calenbot to your server. Create plans with Calenbot in Discord or its web calendar. Existing Discord Scheduled Events are not automatically imported.

Your personal feed includes events addressed to you directly or through a Discord role, subject to the event’s visibility settings. It does not contain every event you can view in the server. Ask the organizer to include you or your role as a recipient.

One URL combines eligible events from your selected servers. The feed covers the next 90 days; it is not a complete calendar archive. This is a read-only subscription: edits in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar do not update Calenbot or Discord. Make changes in Calenbot.

Calendar subscription is free. Each server can have up to 5 active recurring events on the free plan; the paid plan raises that limit to 50. A paid plan is not required to subscribe.

1. Get your private subscription URL

Use the Discord account that receives the plans. Each person needs their own URL.

  1. Open the Calenbot web calendar and sign in with Discord. Complete the consent screen if it appears.
  2. Click Subscribe above the calendar to open “Subscribe in your calendar app”. Check “Servers to include” and leave out any server you do not want in the feed. Eligible servers appear automatically when you have a relevant event.
  3. Choose Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, then click Copy subscription URL. The HTTPS URL is also available in the manual setup field. Keep the dialog open to return to the instructions.

2. Subscribe in Google Calendar

Set up the subscription in a computer web browser. The Google Calendar mobile app cannot add a new URL subscription.

  1. Open Google Calendar using the Google account you use on your phone.
  2. Next to Other calendars, click +, then From URL. You can also use Open Google setup in Calenbot’s subscription dialog.
  3. Paste the copied HTTPS subscription URL and click Add calendar. This final action is required; opening Google setup alone does not subscribe.
  4. Find the calendar under Other calendars. On your phone, use the same Google account and make sure that calendar is selected for display.

3. Subscribe in Apple Calendar on Mac or iPhone

On Mac, choose File → New Calendar Subscription, paste the HTTPS URL, and click Subscribe. Choose a name and Auto-refresh interval, then click OK. Choose iCloud as the location if you want the subscription available on your other devices using iCloud.

On iPhone, open Calendar → Calendars → Add Calendar → Add Subscription Calendar and paste the URL. On iOS 26 or later, tap Find, review the details, then Done. On iOS 18 or earlier, tap Subscribe, then Add. Menu names can vary by OS version.

Calenbot’s Open Apple Calendar button passes your secret URL to the device’s calendar app. Review and confirm the subscription there. If the app does not open, copy the HTTPS URL and use the manual steps above.

When events update and what to check

Subscribe to the URL instead of importing a downloaded ICS file. An import is a snapshot and does not keep checking Calenbot for changes.

Your calendar app decides when to fetch updates. Calenbot suggests a 30-minute refresh interval in the feed, but apps may ignore it or take longer. Changes and cancellations are not guaranteed to appear immediately. On Mac you can choose Auto-refresh in the calendar’s settings. For time-sensitive plans, check Calenbot directly.

If an event is missing, check the selected servers in Subscribe, the event’s recipients and visibility, and whether it starts within the next 90 days. Confirm the calendar is visible in your calendar app. If Calenbot shows a feed or role-information error, reopen the subscription dialog later and retry.

Keep the URL private and replace it if needed

Anyone with this secret URL can read the events in your feed without signing in. Subscribing shares the URL and feed events with the calendar service you choose. Do not post it in a public channel or share it with other members.

If the URL leaks, use Regenerate URL in the web calendar’s subscription dialog. This invalidates the current URL and older per-server subscription URLs. Replace the subscription with the new URL in every calendar app. To stop viewing a feed, unsubscribe in that calendar app.
